New recreation center offers fun for all ages
Grand Park Community Recreation Center
FRASER, CO — The Grand Park Community Recreation Center offers the latest in family aquatic fun as well as a climbing wall, gymnasium, running track and workout and exercise equipment. The center is a public center owned and operated by the Fraer Valley Metropolitan Recreation District.
Completed in December of 2009, the center is a new, 49,667-square foot, state-of-the-art recreation center located in Fraser next to Winter Park off Highway 40 in Grand Park.
The recreation center offers an indoor family leisure pool, complete with a 20-foot high water slide that’s sure to be fun for youths and adults alike. The leisure pool also features a spray and play feature, lazy river, and a zero-depth entry pool. For the serious swimmers, the new center features an indoor, 4-lane lap pool.
“These indoor aquatic facilities will give visitors and locals the latest in recreational swimming enjoyment,” said Scott Ledin, Director of Parks and Recreation for the Fraser Valley Metropolitan Recreation District. “We’re sure that families and serious swimmers will enjoy our new facility.”
The aquatic features are only a portion of what’s offered at the new center.
There’s an indoor court for basketball and related court sports and an indoor gymnastics area that includes a foam and trampoline pit. The center also features in indoor, elevated running/walking track.
The center offers a climbing wall, a fully equipped cardio and lifting area, aerobics room, hot tub, sauna, steam room and related changing rooms, family locker rooms and ample parking. A child watch area with outdoor play area is also included in the recreation center’s plans along with a multi-purpose room.
“This new recreation center allows us to enhance and expand the programs we can offer to visitors and locals,” said Michelle Lawrence, Programming and Marketing Supervisor for the recreation district.
The center is open seven days a week with a range of entry fees for locals, visitors and children, adults and seniors.
